Parent/Carer Health + Wellbeing Program
Our Parent/Carer Health and Wellbeing Program provides opportunities for parents and carers to connect, socialise and build supportive networks.
Health + Wellbeing
At Interchange Illawarra, our Parent/Carer Health and Wellbeing Program provides opportunities for parents and carers to connect, socialise and build supportive networks.
Through a range of free activities and events, we encourage participation in the local community, help foster meaningful relationships, and create opportunities to meet others with shared experiences.
Activities vary throughout the year and may include lunches, morning teas, bus trips, Carer Week celebrations, workshops and special outings. These events offer a chance to learn new skills, enjoy some time out, and strengthen connections with both fellow carers and Interchange Illawarra staff.
Our Support Coordinators and Planners facilitate these activities throughout the year, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all parents and carers.

Meet the team
Our Parent/Carer Health and Wellbeing events provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with Interchange Illawarra staff, management, and other parents and carers in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
As part of Carers Week each October, our CEO, Jake, and Chairperson, Susan, host a special lunch to recognise the invaluable contribution of carers.
Throughout the year, our Support Planner/Coordinators and office-based staff host a variety of social events, giving you the chance to get to know the wider Interchange Illawarra team.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Parent/Carer Health and Wellbeing Events are free for parents and carers of currently registered Interchange Illawarra participants. They are funded by Interchange Illawarra through donations and fundraising initiatives. The events are designed to encourage parents and carers to participate in their local community and foster social relationships that strengthen informal networks.
-
All Parent/Carer events and activities are advertised in the Parent/Carer newsletter, which is delivered by email, usually monthly.
If you are not receiving the Parent/Carer newsletter please contact us on info@interchangeillawarra.org and we’ll pop you on the list.
-
Some of our Parent/Carer events are very popular, like our winery tours and spa days, so we ask for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from parents and carers who would like to attend the event. After the closing date the list is assessed, and priority may be given to parents and carers who haven’t attended an Interchange Illawarra Health and Wellbeing event before.
We will always confirm with attendees before an event.
